Parker Palm Springs Wedding | Sija & Alex

Alex and Sija’s Parker Palm Springs wedding was something straight out of a fairytale. As their DJ, I was in the thick of everything, from their beautiful and heartfelt ceremony at the beginning of the day, to their amazing reception outdoors under the stars of Palm Springs, all the way through their epic dance party and afterparty inside the magnificent ballroom. In the end, Alex and Sija’s wedding day was nothing short of spectacular. 

Parker Palm Springs Wedding Ceremony

Alex & Sija’s perfect day began with their ceremony which was located in the gorgeous courtyard used for most ceremonies at The Parker. For this particular wedding, the couple chose to use live musicians, which we provided the sound for, hooking them into our system while we provided all the speakers and wireless microphone necessary. As you can see, it was a gorgeous ceremony, and we positioned the microphone in such a way that it was minimally intrusive in the amazing photos taken by Brandon Kidd. 

Parker Palm Springs Wedding Reception

The reception space that Kelsey Sage and her team from Love and Luxury put together was one of the most beautiful that we have ever seen. It was a classic black and white that screamed elegance while not being over-the-top or too gaudy. Sija and Alex made a number of eclectic dinner requests (which we love) ranging from Doja Cat, Drake, and Frank Ocean to Glass Animals, Odesza, and Portugal, The Man. After dinner, and a few toasts, were completed, we all moved inside to the ballroom for the remainder of the reception. 

Ballroom Dance Party

Once we moved inside, it was almost time for the real party to begin! Guests entered the ballroom through an amazing floral/tree structure and we provided uplights around the ballroom space to give it some extra color, while the gobos that provided the branch aesthetic on the wall were provided by an outside company. Alex & Sija took part in their first dance, complete with cold spark machines, but before the dance party could begin, we had an amazing choreographed dance performance by some of their friends! For this performance, we were given a pre-recorded track of three songs that we played. At each song change, we were able to change the uplighting color, giving the room a completely new look. This routine led straight into our open dance floor time, where Sija and Alex were able to give us a number of requests including Mr. Brightside, Pepas, and Sugar, We’re Going Down. Following the official “reception dance” we also had an afterparty, which was in the same ballroom space but with a different vibe. Sija and Alex wanted more of an EDM feel for their afterpaty, with requests such as Losing It by Fisher, Beautiful Creatures by Illenium, and the Flume remix of You and Me by Disclosure. We danced late into the night, and at one point Sija and Alex even got to shoot off CO2 cannons provided by Trevor Worden of Frequency 9 Entertainment.

“Music is a huge part of our lives so the choice of DJ for our wedding weekend in Palm Springs was an extremely important one that we didn’t take lightly. We wound up looking into numerous options both local to the area as well as from Los Angeles before choosing DJ Alex and are so very pleased that we did.

From the start he was extremely organized and professional, and his online portal was very detailed and made it very easy to exactly express our (many!) detailed preferences and requests for different parts of the weekend. He also made it really easy to help us coordinate fun add-ons like our Photo Booth and even a live saxophonist who played with him.

We asked DJ Alex to help us plan the music for a disco-themed welcome party on our first night and he really delivered on the assignment. For our wedding day, he was on top of all sound details from the ceremony, through cocktail hour and dinner, followed by a five hour dance party where he managed to keep all of our guests at max energy and fun levels the entire time.
